Born and raised in Mitchell, Miss Kathrine Moline left for a short time for college before returning to her hometown to teach. She attended Mitchell Christian School for both elementary, middle and high school. Miss Moline's mother Mrs. Brenda Moline is a former MCS teacher and currently lives in Missouri with her husband Kim. Miss Moline has two sisters as well - Tessie, who lives in Mitchell, and Laurel, who attends Indiana Wesleyan University. When not found in the classroom, she loves anything outdoors - camping, climbing, water sports, and other fun things. Miss Moline also loves reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends and family, and traveling.
Leaving the Mitchell area for college, Miss Moline traveled to Marion, Indiana to get her degree from Indiana Wesleyan. She has a double major in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. Her love for the classroom began as a young child helping her mother in her classroom. Her love for children was fostered through babysitting and interaction with young children at church and in the neighborhood. It was not until she was in high school that she decided to pursue teaching. In college, Miss Moline was able to travel to Bosnia to work with teachers and students focusing on teaching methods and classroom management. She also had the opportunity to student teach overseas for two months. During that time, her passion for children, missions and travel came together. Lord willing, she would love to pursue teaching overseas in some capacity.
Miss Moline's life verse is actually an entire chapter. She loves Philippians 2 because it talks about the character and attributes that we need to have to become like Christ. Her mission in the classroom is to meet the spiritual and academic needs of her students in a positive and supportive classroom environment. Miss Moline desires that her students know first and foremost that Jesus loves them and died for them. She wants them to know that she gives them her best and that they are loved and prayed for. Traveling all over the globe, Miss Moline has gone to inner city Chicago, Russia, Jamaica, and Bosnia/Croatia on various mission trips which all began very early in high school. She says that each trip has had a specific impact on her life. In high school, she was able to affirm her passion for children overseas through experiences in orphanages and schools. During college, she was able to go to Bosnia and minister/teach teachers in their school systems. This in turn affirmed her desire to teach in whatever setting God places her in. Overall, her experiences have caused her to be a more global Christian, desiring to meet the academic and spiritual needs of students all over the world.
