Even though he was born in California, Mr. Jonathan Haskell spent most of his life in Kansas City. He attended Berean Christian School (8^th - 12^th) and later attended Calvary Bible College. Growing up, he was the oldest of six kids. When not found in the classroom, Mr. Haskell can be found backpacking and fishing.

Mr. Haskell received his degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies from Calvary Bible College. He said his passion for teaching came from working at summer camps with teens. While Mr. Haskell doesn't have a particular life verse, his favorite books of the Bible include Roman, Ecclesiastes, and Ephesians. For his classes, he wants students to gain a love for history to the point that they will become self-motivated learners and use their knowledge to make wise and informed choices. He wants all of his students to leave his class with the desire to use Scripture to think through every area of life.

Even though Mr. Haskell hasn't gotten to go on a specific mission trip, he did get to go to Israel with his church when he was a senior in high school. If he was to do a mission trip, he would like to go back to Israel. He said that going to Israel added perspective and insight into his study of Scripture.
