Mrs. Saundra Nash was born and raised in Abilene, Kansas. Her dad was a dairy farmer and he raised crops as well. She attended Rural Center Grade School, which was a mile from her home in the country, for grades first through eighth. She then attended high school in Chapman, Kansas. She went to college at Miltonvale Wesleyan (our church college) in Kansas for two years. She then attended Marion College for two more years in Indiana. Growing up Mrs. Nash had three brothers: Mike, Mark, and Dennis. Now her family includes her husband, Keith and her three sons: Aaron, Nathan, and Adam. Mrs. Nash enjoys family gatherings, baking goods and sharing them with others, relaxing with her friends and family at the coffee shop, meeting people and visiting with them, and working with children. She also likes spending time in Pennsylvania in Amish Country. She likes learning about the Amish culture and background and reading fiction and non fiction books about them. She also enjoys getting to know them and becoming their friend.
Mrs. Nash got her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Marion College in Marion, Indiana. When asked where her passion for teaching came from, Mrs. Nash replied, "I had wonderful teachers all through my early years of grade school and I decided that I wanted to grow up to do and be just what they were. I also had an aunt who was a teacher and she inspired me. I believe the Lord gave me a love for children and that He called me to use my gift in this way."
Mrs. Nash's life verse is Matthew 6:33 which says, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you." She says that He has not failed to keep that promise in her life.
Her vision for her classroom is that the children will always know God's love for them and that they will always choose God and seek Him above all else. She wants her classes to leave knowing the truth of God's Word. She wants His Word to grip their hearts- if they do they will never be the same and they will always be able to love Jesus and His ways.
Mrs. Nash has had the opportunity to go on several mission trips. She has been to Russia and ministered to the Dineh people in Arizona. When asked how this trip changed her life, Mrs. Nash said, "We are rich in material things--poor in things that really matter. We have so much, we are so blessed and we don't even recognize it and appreciate God's goodness to us. Often I have exhibited an unthankful heart for God's gracious blessings."
